TrackSmart AI Cumulative Performance Report: NYRA & Regional Tracks

Season-to-Date Scorecard: Week of October 26 – November 1, 2026

TrackSmart AI | Prepared for Saratogabets | Week Ending November 1, 2026

1. Overview & Methodology

This scorecard covers the cumulative reporting window of December 26, 2025 through November 1, 2026, across Belmont at the Big A (BAQ), Finger Lakes (FL), Aqueduct (AQU), Laurel Park (LRL), Santa Anita (SA), Penn National (PEN), Saratoga Harness (SARH), Woodbine (WO), Saratoga (SAR), Del Mar (DMR), Charles Town (CT), Kentucky Downs (KD) and Keeneland (KEE).

The headline measure is the Top 4 Strike Rate: the share of races in which the eventual winner appears among the AI's four ranked selections. A race counts as a hit if the winner is the AI's 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th pick. Average Payout reflects the $2 win payout on those AI hits.

This week added 94 races from Finger Lakes, Belmont Park and Keeneland (October 26 through November 1), bringing the dataset to 2,695 total races.

2. This Week at a Glance

Volume Expansion

The tracking dataset grew to 2,695 total races with the addition of 94 races run across Finger Lakes, Belmont Park and Keeneland from October 26 through November 1.

Strike Rate Resilience

The cumulative Top 4 Strike Rate held steady at 77.3% (2,081 for 2,695). The standout was Finger Lakes, where the AI posted a perfect 8-for-8 (100%) on three consecutive cards: October 26, 27 and 28.

Value Normalization

The Average Payout for AI hits held at roughly $8.18. Deep value identification and favorable scratch dynamics produced sizeable overlays this week, including Early and Often ($22.32), Tiz the Name ($20.30), Floodlites ($20.08), Real Goodbar ($17.40) and Trew Violence ($15.56).

System Integrity & Scratch Protocol

The automated scratch adjustment protocol was the most productive feature of the week. By mechanically moving "Next-Man-Up" alternates into active slots when original Top 4 selections scratched, it protected win rates and lifted unheralded longshots into winning positions, most notably Floodlites ($20.08), Real Goodbar ($17.40) and Scalable ($11.94).

Note: Prior totals reflect cumulative data through October 25; earlier daily breakdowns are condensed into the Prev. Totals row. Late scratches shifted runners up in the rankings across all cards this week, securing several top-tier hits and lifting the average payout. Oct 24 Keeneland rank totals include a Dead Heat between 1st and 2nd AI choices, yielding 2,082 total hits for 2,081 successful races.

Pace Flow Precision: consistent mapping of race shapes continued to yield dominant top-pick success. Identifying extreme speed advantages produced strong standalone anchors.

2nd Selection

Class Elevation & Adaptability: a reliable safety net that captured deep-dive value finds like Trew Violence ($15.56) and Attachment ($14.94).

3rd Selection

Alternate Protection: benefited from "Next-Man-Up" overrides and scratch adjustments, thriving when heavy favorites scratched or failed to fire.

4th Selection

14.9%

Rebounding Safety Net: elevated longshots in chaotic, depleted fields, with hits like Floodlites ($20.08) and Real Goodbar ($17.40) that would otherwise have fallen outside the Top 4.

Taken together, the top two picks account for 63.7% of all hits, while the 3rd and 4th selections contribute the remaining 36.3%. This week the lower ranks earned their keep, largely through the scratch protocol that slid alternates into active slots.

Average payout stayed resilient this week, fueled by scratch logic pulling mid-to-high priced alternates into the winning frame.

6. This Week's Structural Findings

Scratch Protocol Validation

The mechanical rule of sliding 5th-and-lower ranked alternates up into the Top 4 after late scratches was the highlight of the week. Automated bumps salvaged multiple cards and captured large payouts, including Floodlites ($20.08), Real Goodbar ($17.40), Scalable ($11.94) and Night Sky ($8.62).

Regional Dominance at Finger Lakes

The AI was tuned to local Finger Lakes form and track dynamics this week. It swept all three FL cards (October 26, 27 and 28), landing 24 for 24 (100%) in the Top 4 and projecting "Loose on Lead" and "Dominant Speed" scenarios accurately.

Bounce Penalty Needs Tuning

The Belmont Park data, particularly October 31, shows the "Bounce Risk" algorithm is currently tuned too aggressively. Several logical winners, such as L'Eclair and Tampa Storm, were downgraded out of the Top 4 solely on expected regression after career-top figures that never materialized.

Chaos vs. Logic

The model performed very well on logical, chalky days where Top Power or Speed dictated the race. It struggled with true chaos results (odds above 15-1), such as the November 1 Belmont card, where large class step-ups or poor prior speed figures pushed eventual winners into the "Fringe" tiers.

European Shipper Translation

In the chaotic turf routes and Breeders' Cup prep fields at Keeneland and Belmont, the AI occasionally struggled with unexposed foreign shippers. Rigid mandates, such as macro-level trainer stats or domestic layoff penalties, suppressed elite foreign invaders. Adjusting the translation and normalization of European form should close this blind spot.

7. AI's Final Analysis: Building the Path Forward

Five things worth acting on as the season moves toward its close:

  1. Keep the scratch protocol exactly as it is. Alternate bumps produced Floodlites, Real Goodbar, Scalable and Night Sky this week, and they are the clearest source of payout lift.
  2. Recalibrate the Bounce Risk penalty. Loosen it so that horses coming off career-top figures are not removed from the Top 4 on regression alone; L'Eclair and Tampa Storm are the test cases.
  3. Build a European form normalization step for unexposed foreign shippers, replacing the domestic layoff and trainer-stat penalties that currently suppress them, ahead of the Breeders' Cup prep cards.
  4. Treat Finger Lakes as a model for local calibration. Its 24-for-24 week came from correct reads of Loose on Lead and Dominant Speed shapes, a template worth applying at other regional tracks.
  5. Accept that true chaos results above 15-1 will fall outside the Top 4 and size expectations accordingly, rather than loosening the model to chase them. Belmont on November 1 (45.5%) is the cost of that discipline.

8. Data Notes & Caveats

  • Reporting period: December 26, 2025 through November 1, 2026; this week added races run October 26 – November 1.
  • Prior totals reflect cumulative data through October 25, with earlier daily rows condensed into the Prev. Totals row.
  • An Oct 24 Keeneland Dead Heat between the 1st and 2nd AI choices yields 2,082 total hits for 2,081 successful races.
  • Late scratches shifted runners up in the rankings on all cards this week, which inflated top-tier hits and average payout relative to an unscratched baseline.
  • Average payout figures are shown as approximations (~) for cumulative rows.
